What a day it’s been in Laghey. Children all over the country celebrated World Book Day today and we were no different. We engaged in online art lessons linked to The Secret Garden and The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Then we had our Book Swap event where children brought in books from home to get tokens that entitled them to books brought in by other children. This was organised by our hard working Eco Council and is a wonderful way to share great books with others while not incurring the costs. To round the day off, we had a readathon throughout the school. Children found a quiet space to immerse themselves in a good book and get some hot chocolate to make the experience more memorable. A huge thank goes out to you to all the children who engaged with World Book Day and a special word of thanks to all our brilliant staff in making this happen.
