As a conclusion to our topic on ‘Polar Explorers’ and linked to our research in World Around Us, P.3&4 had the opportunity to create their own piece of artwork based on the Northern Lights. We used ‘The Northern Lights’ poem as a stimulus for our artwork and looked at various real life and artist images as an inspiration for our work. The children were able to explore and create different lines and techniques with their own watercolour palette to create their vibrant works of art. Below are some pictures of the budding artists hard at work and their masterpieces are currently on display outside our classroom.
