Today the boys and girls from Laghey PS and Killyman PS welcomed Donna from Burns Skills for a session of Dance and Movement. Through team games and dance activities the children developed their spatial awareness skills ensuring they moved safely around the hall. The children enjoyed the range of songs further developing their listening, motor and coordination skills to ensure they followed the musical instructions, whilst also able to improvise and create their own dance moves also. These were very impressive even featuring some break-dancing moves! The children explored the tempo of the music and created dance movements to match e.g. a dinosaur, caterpillar or butterfly as well as creating a dance sequence for Pinocchio. The smiles, enthusiasm and energy in the hall today highlighted the positive power of being active and the enjoyment each child had whilst having fun with their friends in both schools.
