P5’s took their time and effort to present a fabulous piece of art inspired by Claude Monet’s picture of The Magpie. We discussed Monet’s role as an impressionist artist, focusing on his ability to capture nature and light. The boys and girls then explored visual elements of tone, colour and texture to create the winter scene. They experimented with techniques of blending and layering to capture light and shadow. They used creative expression and imagination to bring their own version of a snowy landscape to life.
