We are very proud to announce that the Eco Council and the pupils of Laghey PS have helped our school earn Green Flag status after a two-year process. This is a very prestigious and internationally recognised award which recognises the amazing work our pupils have done in making Laghey PS more environmentally friendly. Over the past two years our school has made significant improvements in four key areas - Waste, Energy, Litter and Water. Special thanks goes to our dynamic and passionate Eco Council for their outstanding work and dedication over the past two years. The assessors were particularly impressed with their recycling and waste initiatives. They have suggested we introduce biodiversity as our next key area and the children are very keen to make a start on this subject. We are looking forward to receiving our official Green Flag at the Awards ceremony in Belfast later this term!
